How We Met
Jaron and Natasha met at Lynchburg College (LC) in Lynchburg, Virginia. Natasha first remembers seeing Jaron at RA (Resident Assistant) training in August, 1997. Jaron was the new Graduate Assistant for Intramurals at LC and she was instantly attracted to the new strikingly tall and handsome man that was facilitating icebreakers.
A year later, a mutual friend, Melissa Corey, began playing cupid. This all happened one night after Melissa stated almost all in one breath and thought that Jaron needed a girlfriend and that Natasha was just the girl.
Jaron and Natasha had their first date to see Rush Hour on November 12, 1998 and well, the rest is history!

Our Engagement Story
Scuba diving is one of Jaron's favorite pastimes. He wanted to share his underwater adventures with Natasha, who recently got certified.
The two planned to take an underwater photograph to make Holiday Greeting Cards on one of Natasha's first dives. Jaron suggested that when they get down to the bottom that he would get on the sea floor and write on the underwater slate as he if were teaching her something and that Natasha should stand there and play along. So Natasha said, "okay."
When the divemaster was ready to take the picture, Natasha looked at the slate which read, "Will You Marry Me!" At first Natasha couldn't believe what she was reading. Then she looked up to see Jaron holding a ring out. Being underwater, she wasn't sure what to do or how to communicate. So, she nodded her head and hugged Jaron as best she could in all that scubba gear, grabbed the slate and wrote "YES!"
